The installation team arrives – Once all the pre-installation steps have been completed—from the initial consultation to signing the paperwork and building the windows themselves—our team arrives bright and early on the installation date. In addition to carrying the replacement window assemblies, our truck carries everything we need, including tools and our own power supply. Our team leader discusses the project overview and addresses questions you may have.

Pre-installation protection – Our team respects the integrity of our clients’ homes and makes sure everything is well protected. Furniture and valuables are moved out of harm’s way, all work areas are protected by drop cloths, and every member of our team wear protective footwear to prevent tracking dirt in.

Removing the old windows – We then remove your old windows and assess the window openings’ condition. At this stage, our team may perform repairs as needed.

Installation of new windows – Window replacement now begins. Renewal by Andersen windows are custom-built to fit your window opening, so there’s virtually no need to shim or reshape your drywall just to accommodate your new windows: perfect if you have a historic home, or if it has permanent exterior like brick. All window mechanisms are tested and adjusted before proceeding to the next step.

Weatherproofing the gaps – In almost every case, there will be a small gap between the window frames and the wall opening edges. Our team fills this gap with special insulation for an airtight seal.

Trim installation – We then install window trim to protect the frame edges, and for a cleaner look. If you opted for different interior and exterior finishes for your Fibrex® material frames, the trim will match both sides.

Final cleanup – Of course, we wouldn’t leave you with all the mess lying around. All protective film is removed from the glass parts and then shined. All debris, drop cloths, and every single speck of dirt are then cleaned. We also put all furniture we moved back into place. And finally, we give you a tour of your new windows, demonstrate their functions, and make sure you are 100% satisfied before we leave. We even take your old windows with us for proper disposal.
