Answers to the Frequently Asked Questions About Fibrex®

For a long time, Renewal by Andersen® has been leading the replacement windows company in the industry. With the help of new technologies and innovative minds, we successfully developed our patented Fibrex® frames. But what exactly is Fibrex?

Answers to the Frequently Asked Questions About Fibrex®

Today, we answer some frequently asked questions about this material.

1. What Is Fibrex®?

Fibrex is a rigid material that aims to combine the strongest points of other popular options, such as vinyl, wood, and metal. Fibrex is made by mixing cellulosic (wood-based) fibers embedded in durable polymers. Depending on a client’s preferences, Fibrex frames can have different colors and textures.

2. Is Fibrex Covered by Warranties?

All products from Renewal by Andersen are warranted under a fully transferable limited warranty that covers parts, labor and original installations services. This includes a 10-year limited warranty for components other than glass, including all Fibrex frames and sashes. These are warranted not to flake, rust, blister, peel, crack, pit, corrode or rot under normal use for 10 years from the original date of installation.

3. Is Fibrex Energy-Efficient?

Fibrex windows have good thermal resistance, which means that heat absorbed by the frame doesn’t entirely seep into the other side of the window. This makes Fibrex replacement windows excellent energy-savers. For even better results, get Fibrex windows with low-emissivity (Low-E) glass technology.

4. Is Fibrex Available for All Window Styles?

Because of its unique combination of materials and strength, Fibrex can be manufactured into all types of windows. It can also be used for specialty and curved windows, unlike fiberglass that only allows straight lines.

5.  Is Fibrex Eco-friendly?

Renewal by Andersen replacement windows are manufactured with the environment in mind. Fibrex contains at least 40% of wood fibers reclaimed from wood trimmings at the Andersen® Corporation woodworking facilities in Minnesota. As we have control over the supply chain and manufacturing process, we can maintain a minimal carbon footprint.
